We have cabinets over the kitchen of our rented house and the hinges are rusted in some places. Is there anyway to get the rust of trying to save a few months until we can afford to buy new ones? Try steel wool, but only brought down the high spots. Brasso I will try this afternoon. Any other suggestions?

There is a product called CLR works very well in the oxide. Remove the hinges and soak them int the product for awhile.
